And suddenly, it’s fall!

Though days are shorter, nights are cooler and most of the flowering shrubs are done, there are many rewards. For instance, a bonfire of fall foliage that make it a season to enjoy those last days in the garden.

There are many shrubs that provide fall color. We wanted to share a few favorites, each with something special to offer. Now, as you're wrapping up fall planting, is the time to slip in a few shrubs. These look great in spring and summer, but provide a really special autumn moment.

Grace Smoke Tree

You loved it dressed in rich purple all summer, but when cooler fall nights come on…wow! Look at that fiery color. Performs even in rocky, infertile soils! Partial to full sun. Up to 15 ft. tall and wide. Zone: 4 – 8
